ABOUT THE CONFERENCE

In the context of learning a language, input is the language data to which students are exposed. The success of input depends on the level to which the data is understood by the students. Intake is the language skills and elements encoded by the students. One of the significant functions of output based on the input and intake is to create automaticity, which is a crucial pedagogical goal of second language acquisition (SLA).

One of the common experiences of language teachers is students scoring 80% to 90% in the semester examinations, but miserably failing when it comes to application of language skills and elements in authentic communication contexts. The focus of this conference is to bring teachers of English together to discuss their experiences and research in terms of Input, Intake and Output.

OBJECTIVES OF THE CONFERENCE

  • To raise teachers' awareness of the extent to which classroom teaching is absorbed by the students.

  • To share new methods and best practices in ELT.

  • To maximize 'input' (teaching) - 'intake' (proficiency enhancement in the learner) ratio in teaching of the English language.
