Gitanjali Chawla is a folklorist, researcher, educationist, editor and materials producer. She is an Associate Professor of English at Maharaja Agrasen College, University of Delhi, India. Her research on the folk songs of Punjab has led to an active participation in several fora, both at the national and international level and has several publications in journals of repute to her credit. She has also dabbled in translation and is keenly interested in innovative pedagogies in the virtual mode. She is the co-editor of two seminal anthologies, Cultures of the Indigenous: India and Beyond and De-Territorialising Diversities: Literatures of the Indigenous and Marginalised.
