I) I have been closely associated with various committees of the Department of English, University of Delhi, for revision and restructuring of the syllabi of B.A.(Hons.)English, B.A.(Pass) and subsidiary courses, and I have edited a book titled The Undergraduate’s Miscellany prescribed by the University of Delhi, as a text book for Subsidiary English Course B and published by Oxford University Press, Delhi, 1991 (on behalf of the Department of English, University of Delhi)
II) I have been Paper-Setter and Head Examiner for B.A.(Hons.) English Paper VII and for Subsidiary Course-B for all B.A.(Hons.)/B.Sc.(Hons.) courses, University of Delhi
III) I have been an Examiner and Research Supervisor for Ph.D. in English and Comparative Literature for Bharthidasan University, Tiruchirapalli (T.N.), Gandhigram Rural Institute (Deemed University), Gandhigram (T.N.), Gujarat University, Gandhinagar; Marathwada University, Nanded (M.S.); C.C.S. I) At the college level, I have been closely associated with all the major societies and associations generally as Convener. In this capacity, I have looked after and supervised the admission-work, college time-table, library related work, the college magazine SAMADRISHTI and the Wall-Magazine SRIJAN, Spic-Macay functions, Yoga-Meditation Camps and Personality Development Programmes for students, English Literary Society, etc.
II) As convener of the Functions Committee, I have been coordinating the organization of all important functions in the College including the Annual Day and Prize Distribution Function, almost every year. I have also been contributing significantly in the organization of our Annual Cultural Festival SPLENDOUR. As convener of the Prospectus Committee, we designed and gave a new and distinct shape to the College Prospectus now titled INFORMATORY.
III) As convener of the Students’ Union Advisory Committee, Students’ Welfare Committee and Discipline Committee from year to year, I have been conducting the Students’ Union Elections and have been rendering guidance and advice to the elected representatives for smooth functioning of these student bodies which has consequently created a strong, responsible and vibrant but disciplined student community in the College.
IV) As convener of the Academic Affairs and Assessment Committee, I alongwith other colleagues introduced the system of Home Examinations (Half Yearly Exams.) about ten years ago. The Home Examination System is now a significant component of the Internal Assessment Scheme introduced by the University of Delhi in the academic year 2003-2004. We also experimented with the system of Faculty-Tutors for a closer interaction between the students, teachers and parents.

Ever since my joining the teaching profession in 1968, I have been regularly attending National and International Conferences/Seminars on English Literature and Language, Commonwealth Literature, Canadian Literature, Indian English Literature and Indian Literature, in different universities/institutions in different parts of India. TRAVELS ABROAD |

I have visited U.S.A., Canada, England, France and Holland. I was granted a Two-Weeks Research Stay from 13th to 27th July 2002, by the University Grants Commission, to work on my research project on Diaspora Studies at the University of Toronto, Toronto, Canada through the Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute, New Delhi.
I was also selected by the Trent University, Peterborough, Canada, to participate in their Interdisciplinary/Multidisciplinary Programme called Summer Explorations in Canadian Cultures, 28th June to 12th July 2002. It is an academic and culture immersion program in Canadian Studies for foreign academics with the objective of forging international ties and furthering the study and curriculum development of Canadian Studies abroad.
I was also selected by the Trent University, Peterborough, Canada, to participate in their Interdisciplinary/Multidisciplinary Programme called Summer Explorations in Canadian Cultures, 28th June to 12th July 2002. It is an academic and culture immersion program in Canadian Studies for foreign academics with the objective of forging international ties and furthering the study and curriculum development of Canadian Studies abroad.

Vassanji, Toronto-based eminent creative writer; Mr. Iqbal Ramoowalia, Toronto-based eminent Punjabi writer; Prof. Abraham Rotstein, Department of Political Science, University of Toronto; Prof. Elliot Tepper, Department of Political Science, Carlton University, Ottawa; Prof. Balbir Sahni, Professor of Economics and Director, Centre for International Cooperation, Concordia University; and Prof. Christi Verduyn, Professor of English, Trent University, Peterborough, Ontario, Canada.

GENERAL |
|
Besides acquiring proficiency and excellence at the professional level, I have deep interest in various socio-cultural and socio-economic issues related to our society and environment. Consequently, I have been participating actively in almost all the activities organized by various societies and departments in the College from time to time. I also evince due interest in the welfare activities of the area of my residence and am associated with several community-projects such as Water-Harvesting, Tree Plantation & Conservation of Natural Habitat, Cleanliness & Sanitation, Counseling and Guidance to youngsters, etc.
Owing to my firm belief that a person must give back to the society which has contributed to the enrichment of his professional and personal life, I am now associated as the Coordinator of the Mirambika Research Centre for Integral Education, Sri Aurobindo Ashram, New Delhi, on regular and honorary/voluntary basis.
I also propose to offer free consultative services to the destitute litigants through the Indian/Delhi Legal Aid Society, New Delhi
