He is also the recipient of several academic grants and award. He has co-edited three books. Dr Sharma has published a number of research papers in various international and national journals/periodicals. He has also presented a large number of papers in national and international seminars/conferences. Besides this, Dr. Sharma has traveled far and wide to places, including Rome, Prague, Florence, Thailand, Japan, Netherlands, France, Israel and many other countries.

| Dr Sharma has an M.A., an M. Phil., and a Ph.D. from the University of Delhi. He has been trained at the CIEFL, Hyderabad (renamed as English and Foreign Language University, EFLU, Hyderabad) in English Language Teaching (ELT), curriculum designing and evaluation. He has been on the External Faculty of EFLU for teacher training for the last more than two and a half decades and a resource person in ELT, specially in curriculum designing and evaluation all over the country. He is also the Patron of the English Language Teaching Association of India (ELTAI), Kanpur Chapter. Dr Sharma's academic interests include Indian, American, English, Canadian, and South Asian North American literatures; English Language Teaching (ELT), Curriculum Design and Evaluation; Gender Studies, Translation and Translation Studies; and occasional creative writing. He also has a Law Degree from University of Delhi. Dr Sharma has been teaching English for the last 37 years, both at the post graduate and the undergraduate levels. Currently, he is the Principal of Ram Lal Anand College, University of Delhi, New Delhi. |
